If you are tired of your current job or career and want to try something new, look to the Internet for ideas.

To begin your quest, go to College Board Online at www.collegeboard.com, select "Students and Parents" and click on "Career Search." Whether you are interested in jobs that don't require degrees like cashiers or janitors or something needing higher education like aircraft mechanics or chemical engineers, you can find it listed here.

Start by perusing the long list of general career fields until you find something of interest. Then click on it and select the specific career you want.

In each career you can find out the nature of the work, working conditions, employment, training or other qualifications needed, job outlook, earning potential and more.

Under training, you can select applicable college majors related to the career. This opens a whole new area of exploration including what the general course of study includes, typical college courses and recommended high school studies.

If you are baffled by all the possibilities and need a better start, try the online Career Questionnaire.

The Career Questionnaire asks you about topics such as your temperaments, abilities, preferred working conditions, education and interests. Once filled out and submitted, you are immediately returned a weighted list of careers that would most suit you.

So when you get ready to make the move out of your current job, remember to check the Internet for career ideas and advice.
